NYC Anchor Park Initiative: Betsy Head Park - Brownsville, Brooklyn

Building Thriving & Healthier Communities Through Sports-based Youth & Community Development, Physical Literacy, and educational Project Initiatives.

About Our

organization

The National Sports Zone Foundation (NSZF) was built from its roots in the Friends of Brownsville Parks (FoBP) and NYC's Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice (MOCJ) to highlight the need for improved park investments and quality youth programming in Brownsville, Brooklyn. In anticipation of the completion of Betsy Head Park's $30 million upgrade and other surrounding major neighborhood renovation projects., the NSZF utilizes the power of sports-based programming to strengthen communities with parks and active spaces at the center.
